A newly released report by the UpSkill California Community College Collaborative for 2017–2020 provides training, demographic, and wage data from the Employment Training Panel (ETP) for the more than 30 collaborative member colleges that deliver customized employee training and professional development services to employers. The preliminary report findings reflect how, during this period, UpSkill California Collaborative’s infrastructure has expanded its capacity to deliver training services to more employers in more cities and regions throughout the state.
Report highlights from the 2017–2020 training period show:
- A 33.9% increase in the number of companies served
- A 30.9% increase in training delivered
- A substantial expansion of the UpSkill California service territories from 2014 to 2020 providing statewide services for employers

About the UpSkill California Community College Collaborative
The UpSkill California Collaborative is composed of more than 30 California Community Colleges that deliver customized workforce training and workplace education via Workforce Training & Development Centers (WTDC). The Centers receive support from the Employment Training Panel (ETP)—a state agency that provides funding to employers to assist in upgrading the skills of their workers through training. ETP funding helps off-set the costs of job skills training necessary to maintain high-performance workplaces.
To help businesses manage and administer the complexities of ETP contracts, several of the UpSkill California Collaborative college members are designated as Multiple Employment Contract (MEC) holders. Those colleges assist other college members in procuring ETP contracts for their clients, thus expanding the geographic area served by ETP.
